Skills To Advance aims to equip employees with the skills to progress in their current job, or to take advantage of new job opportunities.


Skills to Advance is a national initiative that provides upskilling and reskilling opportunities to employees in jobs undergoing change and to those currently employed in vulnerable sectors.

FREE UPSKILLING OPPORTUNITIES FOR THOSE IN EMPLOYMENT

Skills to Adance is a scheme designed to support those in employment to upskills and improve their employment opportunities.

What programmes can I access: What can I study on Skills to Advance?: Athy FETC offers a broad range of QQI modules including in areas us as Healthcare, Applied Social Studies, Business Administration, Career Support, Early Learning and Care.

Skills to Advance is free to people:

Those who are employed in all parts of the workforce whose skill level is below level 5 on the national framework of qualifications.

How does it work: Such employees can access upskilling opportunities at level 5 or below free-of-charge across relevant further education and training provisions.

Once an application has been received, students are invited to interview, they may also be asked to complete an initial assessment.
